GM Minivans
[edit]Hi, I was wondering if you would support me in the discussion to keep the GM minivans separate, rather than merge them with the Chevrolet Lumina APV and Chevrolet Venture articles. I'd really appreciate your help ans support. -Bavaria 17:36, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
Important WikiProject Automobiles Discussion
[edit]Hello! As a Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles member, I just thought you might want to input your opinions on an important discussion we're currently having about whether articles regarding similar vehicles should be merged into one or split by brand. If you would like to comment or read further, please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Automobiles#Articles of Similar Vehicles. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and feedback. Fish userboxes
[edit]Hi Akadruid,
I thought you might be interested in some new Wikipedia:Userboxes/Pets#Fish|fish userboxes. Here's one for fish User:Rfrisbie/Userbox/Fish owner If you're interested in help with making any other userboxes, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Cheers, Rfrisbietalk 00:27, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the thought, Rfrisbie. I think I've gone past the fad now but I might look sometime. I'm afraid I've delinked your post, because I don't want new message notifications each time a bot or AWB passes this page. Cheers, akaDruid 12:21, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

"Oblateness constant"
[edit]- The oblateness constant is a ratio of difference betwen the lengths of the major and minor axis and the length of the major axis.
Isn't that just another name for flattening or ellipticity?: User:Kaimbridge14:49, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Haha, my lack of knowledge is showing up. I was working on Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles and 'oblateness constant' showed up. I attempted to define it on oblate and redirected the original, but it could do with a professional's view! Please do change it. Cheers akaDruid 15:26, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Done! I'm finishing up an article on angular eccentricity and will add its link when its "born". P=) User:Kaimbridge16:19, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Fish articles
[edit]I'm wondering if you are interested in helping to improve some of the fish related articles. I'm thinking about starting a wiki-project to help these types of articles, and I thought you might be interested. QuizQuick 22:48, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Wikiproject Automobiles Notification
[edit]Hi Akadruid, you were on the list of members at WikiProject Automobiles and we are introducing a new way of listing members, as the old list was becoming too long. Our new method involves having all of our members in a category.
To add yourself to the category just add the userbox to your user page by putting {{Wiki Auto Project}} where you want the userbox. Alternatively if you don't like the userbox you can add [[Category:WikiProject Automobiles members|Akadruid]] to your userpage.
If you no longer wish to be a member of the project, simply don't add the userbox or category, there's no pressure. Thanks for your time, James086Talk | Contribs 04:53, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hi,
Firstly, please feel free to leave this note until you are finished with your exams etc.
When you have time, could you have a look at your speedy delete of the Phillip Torrone article. A quick glance at the pages that linked to this, or Googling for it, will show this should be worthy of at least an Afd.

Speedy deletion of Template:User pb
[edit]A tag has been placed on Template:User pb requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
[edit]Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Opinion Request
[edit]Hi akaDruid,
I was just wondering if you would be interested in commenting on a disagreement that I am having with another user about the Mosquito product. It's on the discussion page for the Mosquito and it's about the link to the manufacturer's page, compoundsecurity.co.uk . I know you were following this page at some point. If you decide to give your opinion, please feel free to take whoever's side or suggest another solution. I am not trying to convince you to agree with me or anything like that. Thanks, --Purpleblue1 (talk) 21:03, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Publicfile
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Publicfile requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Mootros (talk) 18:45, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
The article Publicfile has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Appears NOT to met notability criteria. Bordering on advertising.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mootros (talk) 23:35, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Citations that do not support what they are cited for
[edit]Hi Akadruid,
When citing sources, please make sure they actually support the statement that you are citing them for. That was not the case in your edit here. It's important that Wikipedia readers and fellow editors can rely on the relation between text and source. Edits that mislead them about this, whether by sloppiness or deliberately, are highly problematic.
