Bourke Street
[edit]Just to let you know that the Bourke Street link is up and working (even though it is only a stub at present). EuropracBHIT 09:49, 18 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Myer has been sold and no longer owned by Coles Myer (soon to be Coles Ltd.), anyone to adjust this? --Biggles 16:14, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
The transaction is not yet finalised, the article is correct at this point in time. Andypasto 05:28, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Myer Emporium
[edit]This building is significant enough to have its own article. --Biatch 03:48, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
The term "Myer Emporium" is ambiguous. While it was the name originally given to the Bourke Street store, it eventually became the trading name of the entire company and was thus used more widely. There are various references to Myer Emporium Limited eg. see [1]. Growing up in Adelaide in the 1960s, I recall the local Myer store being referred to as "Myer Emporium", later "Myer's". Too many articles
[edit]In my opinion, we should not have an article on every single store. Only those stores with independent verifiable notability should have their own articles. --Elonka 04:02, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Acceptance of Coles Myer store card
[edit]Is the statement of the impending demise of the Coles Myer store card at Myer based on verifiable sources? Murtoa 04:36, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Staff discounts, store profitability, returns policy
[edit]This information is not encyclopaedic (in the case of staff discounts) or publicly verifiable (in the case of store profitability) and I believe should be deleted. Murtoa 22:11, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
The very large section on returns policy has been taken directly from the Myer website, is unremarkable, overly detailed and is not encyclopedic content. I have therefore removed it. Murtoa 12:01, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Store Sizes
[edit]Where do you guys get the info on store sizes? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tri400 (talk • contribs) 00:41, 22 March 2007 (UTC).
It would have to be someone either from within the company, or employed by one of myer's landlords. But if its within myer, then they must be at least at management level to have access to that information. David52 11:43, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
... and on that basis alone I believe the store size information should be deleted, as it is not public information and cannot be verified. I believe this should apply similarly to the staff discount information. In my opinion, this article more generally is dominated by an excess of information that is either not particularly encyclopedic, or is obtainable only from inside the company Murtoa 12:30, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your suggestions but i was putting the question to the people who actually added the info on store sizes. Store size information is common in Indian media, particularly business publications. I haven't really seen such info in Australia, except for new and upcomming stores. So i was all the more curious. I doubt wether this is top secret info, as this type of info is published worldwide. Plus, when Real Estate companies sell or rent property, "carpet area" is printed in the ad. Tri400 11:27, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Store sizes info sources please: Could someone that uploaded the exact sizes of the stores in sq. m or sq. feet please tell us where you got the info. Even if that info was not from the internet. Tri400 00:37, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Brand listing
[edit]The move to condense the large brand listing section is welcome. The overall entry is quite bloated and I believe needs trimming, and the voluminous section on brands is a good place to start. I don't think this information particularly adds to a reader's understanding of Myer. Murtoa 07:02, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Departments
[edit]This section contains a great deal of unverified information, plus a great deal of unnotable information eg. the lingerie department sells... lingerie. Murtoa (talk) 12:37, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
