- Thank you for the awesome work you did on the new Hanna Reitsch page! Her life is fascinating to me.
I did not edit the article Hanna Reitsch. You probably want User:Maury Markowitz -- CYD
Hello Jaimenote,
I do apologize if you took my note badly. On re-reading it, it was a bit harsh. I was insulted at the implication that we do not think outside of the box, because, for the record, I happen to agree with you on gender identity being a social construct. But Wikipedia has a commitment to a neutral point of view (NPOV), which means that as editors, we can't just insert our perspective - no matter how valid and appropriate we may feel it is - into articles without attributing it. I.e., this is a valid belief held by some people, but we must make explicit who it is held by (or who it is not held by).
Also, I did not delete your text... that was Martin, who in fact actually moved it to, i think, Gender role, because the Gender page was only intended to direct people to the page they thought was appropriate and not to actually discuss the idea of gender (i.e., a disambiguation page). I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do, but this is how we operate on Wikipedia - someone does something, and if it's controversial, we discuss it with an eye to resolving the conflict (rather than merely trying to get my own side across). Or, at least, we should do it this way - it doesn't always happen, as people have varying levels of commitment to this idea. But that's the way we should be.
Finally, sorry for starting off on the wrong foot. I hope you stick around on Wikipedia and contribute more to the project. Graft
Hello there, welcome to the 'pedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you need pointers on how we title pages visit Wikipedia:Naming conventions or how to format them visit our manual of style. If you have any other questions about the project then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Village pump. Cheers! --maveric149
I think the less I know about your dreams of tits the better! Just a tip: To sign, use three tildes ~~~, which the software will convert. A fourth tilde adds time and date. jimfbleak 07:59 21 Jun 2003 (UTC)
Since you're interested in birds, perhaps you might like to do an article or two? We are very thin on North American species. Green-winged Teal will give you an idea of the consensus style, and I'll help out if needed.
Meanwhile, mid-morning, time to go and do some real birding. jimfbleak 09:16 21 Jun 2003 (UTC)
Joseph Duncan
[edit]Hey there. I was reading the talk on the Joseph Duncan article. If you would like help on researching sources for the article, I would really like to assist you. And by the way, I think you did a very nice job on it. eveningscribe 02:12, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]In the UK in January, daylight hours are still short enough that birding time is a bit restricted. Saw my 12th British American Wigeon yesterday though. jimfbleak 06:05, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
