(1) au/KDDI and Vodafone Japan's wireless data services have been proved to be more successful than DoCoMo's i-mode. More detailed studies can show that Vodafone Japan was more successful in 2001 and 2002, while au/KDDI has been more successful since. The statistics also show huge advantage against DoCoMo and Vodafone Japan. Recently DoCoMo is forced to slice it FOMA packet prices up to 50% in an effort to hold the out-going customers. DoCoMo will also follow the suit to provide flat data rate.
(2) It's important to stress that au/KDDI emphasizes the data services more than other operators and this is enabled by its cdma2000 network which is by far more efficient than W-CDMA networks that DoCoMo and Vodafone Japan use.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Wasabie (talk • contribs) 00:46, 29 March 2004 (UTC)

Did KDDI used to be KDD Submarine Cable Systems?
[edit]Is this the same company that Neal Stephenson describes as one of "a few companies in the world [that] know how to make [submarine cables]" (being the deep-sea fibre-optic cables that connect continents for data-transmission) in his history of how the world got "wired"? I can't find any reference to "KDD-SCS" on Wikipedia, so I figured the closest thing might be KDDI, being a telecommunications corp with a similar name. Things probably changed since 1996, but if this the case then it might be a nice fact to mention. Max Ijzersteen (talk) 11:24, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
- Yes. Or, rather, KDD SCS is one of many business units in KDDI. [1] Jpatokal (talk) 12:31, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
cyclic linkt to the article itself...
[edit]Quote: "introduced the music include ringtone download service Chaku Uta Full (music ringtone full)" there is a link to Chaku Uta Full. But this "article" is only a redirect to the article KDDI itself => cyclic links to iteself => in my eyes this does not make very much sense. --MichaelK-osm (talk) 15:01, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on KDDI. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20090116015833/http://www.geovector.com:80/press/mls.html to http://www.geovector.com/press/mls.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}

Location
[edit]The article states that KDDI has its headquarters in the Garden Air Tower in Iidabashi, Chiyoda, Tokyo. This is correct, but the photo is incorrectly captioned, and says it is the HQ in Shinjuku. Iidabashi is not in Shinjuku it is in Chiyoda ku. --APDEF (talk) 01:29, 12 October 2018 (UTC)
