Trying to solve a puzzle.
[edit]Hi there! Perhaps you can help me with this. I've worked on this article and now something odd is happening and I can't figure it out. If you check the last table in it, you'll see that the content is "floating" there, since there are no borders in display. If you try to edit it, however, you'll find that the table is written in the article's source, but it just won't show in the visualization. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Do me a favor
[edit]...and use four tildes when you welcome newcomers? When on somebody's welcome page, I often like to look at the date on their welcome message. And given that you're the most prolific welcomer I've seen (you're a machine), it would be nice if you'd include the datestamp. Thanks a lot. Best, Meelar 05:04, 11 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- I didn't know there was a technical problem. Good luck, and consider my request withdrawn. Keep up the good work! Best, Meelar 15:05, 11 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for the welcome! It was so nice to see a greeting typed onto my page! Quill 00:23, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for the welcome!

Questions in articles
[edit]I'm not sure about any sort of policy covering this--I don't think anyone would complain if you deleted the article immediately. I just made sure to make a note on my user page to remind myself, and figured nobody would complain. No official policy, it's your call. Best of luck, [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 05:45, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Categories
[edit]Thanks for adding the category "Banks" to the articles on banks that I have entered. How can I add sub-categories such as "Central Banks" and "Defunct Banks"?

Creating Repeating Text
[edit]I'll try and clarify: I have a need to repeat text in multiple documents -- have it actually visible multiple times, not merely show a link. But, I only want to change the text once (in any one of the locations where it appears). I have heard this is possible with some software. Is this possible with wiki? I don't believe "Redirect" solves the problem. Nor am I trying to add wikilinks between pages.
Machine?
[edit]Are you a machine as someone else suggests?

Taking ownership for previous anonymous edit
[edit]I have just become a registered user as "Pasquale". Do you know if I can take ownership for the edits previously made by me as the anonymous user "140.239.85.68"? In other words, can I convert all the contributions made by "140.239.85.68" to "Pasquale", my login name?

If you're the Welcome Wagon, does that mean I get a basket?
[edit]Hey, Jrdioko! After being here less than a week, I'd already been blocked by some creep involved in a running feud with another member, so your visit was a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the wiki welcome and the tips. I'm lovin' the website, but it can be addictive! And, oh, yeah. 'Bout that basket. I love fresh fruit, and I'm partial to those little milk chocolate Ghirardelli squares with the gooey caramel inside. :-) Peace. deeceevoice 01:28, 29 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Enhancing the skull and crossbones page
[edit]I would like you add the Jolly Roger on the skull and crossbones page along with the poison skull and crossbones. I would also like you to add the skull and crossbones that was used during the Stamp Act on a stamp by a colonial illustrator. After adding the crossbones give some information about the added crossbones if you can. If you cannot do ask Jorge Stolfi to take over. (posted by User:Heegoop)
Well, at least you weren't talking to 'me' about the truck parts -- I am actually User:Ugen64, but of course, this is a public terminal at the University of Richmond :). 141.166.211.213 22:40, 6 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Let me explain. I saw that message at the top of an article I was reading. I don't recognize that IP.

What is the correct procedure on coming across an obvious "lift" from a book-in-copyright? (That is if one is not going to update the entry - as I intend doing in this case.)
How much can an article that is not a stub/shorty be rewritten? I am looking at 1920 in Germany and its successors at the moment - and I want to know before I start doing anything.

The "my watchlist" entry needs to be clarified - or can one add items once within it?
