Indentation
[edit]The <cite> tag is broken - is only applies to the first paragraph. The subsequent paragraphs are not rendered in italics. Is there a way to make the <cite> apply across more than one para, or is there a better mechanism than a <cite> tag? PhilHibbs 09:27, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Sorry, missed this question! Use the blockquote HTML, or use ":" to indent each line --- Charles Stewart 20:44, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Historical reenactment
[edit]Why the reference to historical reenactment? Isn't this rather, one of the roots of RuneQuest, rather than of Glorantha? Alai 04:32, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry, missed this question as well! I'm responsible for putting this in: my defence is that the early history of RQ is very much part of the history of Glorantha, and much of the growth of literature on Glorantha was driven by where the game systems went. --- Charles Stewart 20:44, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- But the sentence is about the difference between the origins of Glorantha and the origins of other game worlds. The reference to historical reenactment is out of place. I don't recall Greg saying anything about having been involved in historical reenactment as described in the linked article, so I'm going to change this. — PhilHibbs | talk 09:59, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- Oh, indeed. I seem to remember Daniel Fahey telling me that Greg was involved with the Society for Creative Anachronism at some point, but I'm not entirely sure I have that right. I think I'll email him. --- Charles Stewart 13:53, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- You might be right, if so I appologise. — PhilHibbs | talk 14:31, 19 October 2005 (UTC) p.s. Do I know you from conventions?
- Nope, never been. Almost went once, but it conflicted with a conference. --- Charles Stewart 22:22, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
The SCA is a Steve Perrin connection. Much of the RQII romanticism and sexual egaliarianism can be attributed to Perrin's SCA experience. And yes, I'd agree that in the early years RQ was extremely important to Gl. John Hughes. 09:43, 21 June 2008 (UTC)09:44, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Mythos über alles
[edit]There should be a separate article on Gloranthan mythology, which is the chief virtue of the world; I will help if someone else feels inspired to start it. Septentrionalis 00:49, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
- It's not clear it's best to treat the topic separately for two reasons:
- The mythology is intertwined with geography and the culture of human and elder races. Does it make sense to treat Yelm in one place and the Dara Happans in another? Or Waha apart from Prax?
- I generally think it is a good idea to grow a big article and then farm out parts that have got too big. For organisational reasons it makes sense to have separate Glorantha/RQ/HQ articles, but farmed out articles tend to complement their parents better than separately written articles.
Map of the World of Glorantha?
[edit]The only version of RuneQuest I am familiar with, was the one from 1978.
In that version, it was clear that there was a sea in the middle of the world, a land of ice to the north, and a land of fire to the south. If my memory serves me correctly, there was a map included in the box set, hammering home how important the layout was.
I think the main article would be improved if someone added a rough sketch of the map of Glorantha.198.177.27.32 (talk) 07:48, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- The main article implies that the world of Glorantha was medieval. However, this was not true of the 1978 version of RuneQuest.198.177.27.17 (talk) 03:56, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Glorantha: Now owned by Moon Design Publications
[edit]According to http://www.glorantha.com/moon-design-acquires-glorantha-rights/ Greg sold the rights to Glorantha to Moon Design Publications. I'd suggest updating the article to reflect this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by IlexGarodan (talk • contribs) 23:16, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
It looks like Moon Design are taking over Chaosium. 151.202.29.23 (talk) 21:25, 25 August 2015 (UTC)Taras
