Wouldn't it be better if this article linked to the articles on each tournament instead of to the years in which they took place? --x-Flare-x 04:43, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This has been done sometime in the past. 70.29.210.242 (talk) 12:04, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hosts of future championships

[edit]

Some future host countries out to 2020 are known.

  • 2011
    • WWC: TBD (Switzerland [Zurich and Winterthur] is an applicant [1])
    • Div I: TBD (China [Beijing] and Germany [Ravensburg] are applicants[2])
    • Div II: TBD (France [Cannes or Bordeaux] is an applicant[3])
  • 2012: USA[4]
  • 2013: Canada[5]
  • 2014: No tournament (2014 Winter Olympics)
  • 2015: TBD
  • 2016: Canada[6]
  • 2017: TBD
  • 2018: No tournament (2018 Winter Olympics)
  • 2019: TBD
  • 2020: Canada[7]

There is, of course, no need to create articles for these tournaments at this time. Next year's championship could probably use an article once the host countries and cities are announced. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 06:15, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In lieu of?

[edit]

A curious statement, particularly with no mention of the european championships. In 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995, and 1996 there were sanctioned iihf european championships. Though I cannot find an actual reference, the results would indicate that they determed which european countries qualified for the worlds. In addition, there was an asian qualifier in 1996 for the 1997 worlds.174.90.245.169 (talk) 15:48, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
